No real post for now, but I drew myself (so self-centered, I know) earlier, so I figured I would share. Spam it everywhere I roam, y'know~ ^^

I haven't posted in a long time... and while that's lame of me and all, let's find a way to move on with our lives. ^^;;;

I haven't been drawing or being particularly artistic in any way recently, which kinda sucks because I know that I'm good at it, but I also just don't feel... artsy, I dunno. No real motivation/inspiration = boring Emily. Ehm, these are honestly the only art-type things I've done since last I posted (descriptions as alt text):

I'm leaving for Anime-Expo in a little over 3 days. Kind-of freaking out a bit, worrying that I haven't prepared at all. O_O Must make plans as to what events I want to try to hit! Right now I'm thinking I'll skip the Q&A and just try to go to the ticketed autograph session, but... we'll see. I've gotta look at the schedule some more. For sure the most important bit is picking up the concert tickets themselves as early as possible, to ensure closest the seats.
I just hope Kai doesn't get too bored following me around for two days of this. ^^;

Remember the mouse from two entries ago? Turns out that we probably should have fixed the dog door, because yesterday...
Rajah was acting conspicuous in the kitchen, and went to run quickly out the door. I was like, "Rajah! Stop! Sit!" and surprisingly, he did. I made out a little mouse-y silhouette in the dark on the floor. He had slobbered the little guy to death. ;-; So we were kinda like, "Huh," and I took him and set him outside, in case he was just playing dead.
Then later on today while he was playing MadWorld, Kai said, "I hear noise in the kitchen and I can see the dog outside." I went to investigate and I hear a little noise near the stove... I kicked the stove a bit and... saw a little mouse (or two? I wasn't sure) run out from behind it and behind the counter. The hell??? O_O I pulled the pans-storage-tray out from under the stove and, low and behold, mouse poop. DX Soon we were being serenaded by little mouse squeeks in the kitchen and adjoining wall to the wooden room. We had decided that we'd go buy a trap in a little bit, and then...
Rajah was under the kitchen table sticking his head in one of the old dog food bags. Assuming he wanted to be fed, I went in, took the old dog food bag from him and casually peered inside. Seeing nothing, I told him there was no mouse, and fed him. He proceded to speedily go for the old dog food bag again. I was like, "Rajah, there is no-- WAIT THERE'S A MOUSE." Because there was. O_O
So I went outside and let him go a block or so away.
We went to Pierson's and bought a Havahart humane mouse trap and set it down by the water heater, where it sounded like they were hanging out. It's only been a couple of hours and we've already caught two of them. O_O


This is the second one caught by the trap. He seemed smaller than the others have been~

I went to the dentist today, but it was my ~old~ dentist instead of that ~New~ dentist. It's amazing how much better Felines is. <3

Interesting things lately...

Two days ago I woke up at 7:30 to walk the dog, and while we were out, Kai got up to take a shower... only to be surprised by a (!!) mouse in the tub (and only after he had turned on the water). The thing scurried around the bathroom, apparently able to jump 2 feet in the air... Kai managed to capture it under an old plastic tub. We took a photo of his cute little mouse-y self!



Last night for dinner we had spaghetti squash, linguine alfredo, and peas~



The spaghetti sqaush is absolutely awesome this way. Chop it in half, scoop out the guts, put the two halves upside-down on a pan in a 350 oven for ~45 mins, take them out, put marinara sauce and parmesean in the depressions and then cook for another ~10 mins until the cheese is melted~ Effing great.

Also yesterday we got Rajah a bone that's been cooked or marinated or something, I dunno, and we gave it to him today when Jantz came over. He is now a pleased-ass dog. XD



Hmmm... oh, and also, the other day my heel was hurting a lot, so I bought some new, cushy slippers... and they're. Crazy-looking. I guess they're supposed to look like owls? oO;;



Whatever Target; that's clearly a bead-eyed guy with a bright green mustache and a raspberry-colored 5 o'clock shadow.

Today I:

Went to the DMV and passed my written exam for my Driver's Permit. 4th time's the charm, baby!! XD But no, really, I do plan to learn to drive this time. There have been setbacks and laziness and apprehension in the past... but Emily will get her license in 2009, for sure. Zettai ni. Für sicher. Etc.
On my way back home, I noticed that the store in Henderson Center that for a few weeks had had big question marks up in the windows was now open and... it's a computer store!! A local computer store!! <333 I made a mental note to return later, and on the way home I got a small dipped ice cream cone from Fresh Freeze, because I've been wanting to go there for weeks.
Later on Kai and I went to Henderson Center to: 1) pay a bill at BoA, 2) check for dark green grips at the bike store and 3) check out the computer place. We were greeted cheerfully by the owner (Kabe Miller), and were left alone to browse. The selection is small, but he has a lot of things that the big stores don't bother to carry (singular cables for reasonable prices, wireless cards for less than $40, etc), and there was free coffee and water and pastries (no doubt form Velluntini's across the street XD ). I eyed the monitors and, after returning home to do some research, went back an hour or so later to purchase!

So, I have a new monitor. Yaaaay. This widescreen thing is going to take some getting used to. ^^;;;; It recommends 1680x1050 but... jeez. I've never had a monitor set higher than 1024x768. Craziness.

Updates on Emily, who never seems to remember to update her blog:

At work I was recently promoted to Cashier, which pays more and it generally less stress (I have to deal with customers more directly, but at the same time I don't feel like I should always be doing something like I feel when I'm Courtesy Clerking. I'm still a CC sometimes, but I'm paid like a Cashier all the time, so double yay for that. ^^

Jantz and I have been doing a fan-translation of Tsuji Nozomi's blog. She does the translation (because she knows Japanese XD), and I do a good lot of the formatting and stuff (because it's what I can do to help make this a possibility). The damn girl posts on her blog 5-9 times a day, so it's really a decently massive undertaking to translate and I'm honestly not sure at times why Jantz is willing to do it, especially since she's not really a fan of Tsuji, or even really H!P... but I am massively grateful to her for doing it. ^^

My monitor died (it wasn't even that old!!), and I'm now on an old, ~13 inch-er that can't display colors even remotely bright enough. It's surely terrible for my eyes, and I need to get a new one. I'm working on it. ^^;;;;

Morning Musume are performing in Los Angeles on July 3rd at Anime Expo, and Kai and I are hella going. It's going to be effing awesome.

So, I sketched myself a few times earlier today. None of them worked out grandly, but oh well.

Work and general malase has kept me from drawing much recently, but a couple of days ago I was compelled to draw one of the girls from Ice Creamusume. Here's PeiPei~

I got a Canadian penny (cent?) in my change the other day, but only noticed today. Things are looking up! XD

...or whatever you might celebrate. ^^

We did half of our celebrating last night at my dad's house with my family, and the other half today at Kai's brother's house w/Michele (Ty's wife) and Kai's mum. Decent amounts of fun were had. ^^
Geoff (the younger brother) got me Scene It! Seinfeld Edition (yaaay). The disc has, however, proven to us that the DVD player is breaking, since it keeps skipping and what-not on the brand new disc that came with the game, so that's a bummer. I'm slowly being driven closer and closer to the purchase of a PS3, man. ^^;;;
Besides that, my older brother (William) seemed to like the chair I made for him. I didn't take any good photos of it before it left my hands, but.. it's a lime green computer chair with blue Lego pieces hot-glued around the top edge of the back rest and pink/green 70's inspired fringe around the edge of the seat. I liked it a lot and almost had difficulty giving it away. XD
Daddy liked his Star Trek DVDs, Mummy liked her floor lamp & candle, DeeDee (really) liked her burnt discs of Reba, Geoff liked his gift card (XD). Yay. ^^
